What is it like being a Navy EOD Tech?

Im a sopre going into Jr year of high school, and ive been looking into Navy EOD and its something im really interested in and plan on enlisting after i graduate. But what is it like being one? Because books and brochures don't tell everything. Also are there any useful skills that i could bring with me. Skills that are not required but might be useful, like maybe lock picking or anything like that.
