Why don't we call other countries what they call themselves? Wouldn't it be a sign of respect to do so?
I agree that we should call other countries by their proper names. For example, Italy should be referred to as Italia which is Italian for Italy. France remains the same; however, the pronunciation would be different. The same is true for the cities within the countries. When I travel to Syria, it's frustrating to speak about different cities in Arabic and English. It's twice as many for me to learn! I wish someone would create a Globe for schools that show exactly what you're suggesting. It's about time more people became educated.
